This design is inspired by the Speckled Wood butterfly, which takes flight from March to October in woodlands across Ireland. On many walks in my local woods, I’ve often seen through dappled light the flutter of tiny wings coloured with earthy browns, deep blacks, and delicate speckles of cream.
The scarf captures the subtle beauty of this tiny butterfly, reminding us that timeless beauty doesn’t always need bright colours to make an impact.
Each Elsie Tweed scarf is uniquely designed and crafted from 100% merino lambswool for an exceptionally soft, luxurious feel. Woven in County Donegal, Ireland, and carefully sewn in our Greencastle studio, every scarf blends traditional Irish tweed craftsmanship with our own exclusive, modern designs – pieces made to be both stylish and timeless.
Sizing:
Available in two sizes – our standard 11” scarf or the oversized 17” scarf, which can double as a wrap in warmer months. See images for size comparisons or get in touch if you’d like more information.
Please Note: Each scarf is hand-cut and sewn, making every piece one of a kind – slight variations in colour may occur from the images above.
Care Instructions:
Dry clean only is recommended. However, pure wool and lambswool can be steamed. If your scarf gets very wet, allow it to dry naturally in open air. Do not tumble dry.
